Huntly faced Cornhill today at The Meadows hoping to bounce back from their poor result the previous week. Huntly got in front after just 3 mins when Dorrat lofted the ball over the Cornhill defence and Scott Law volleyed home. Huntly nearly made it two minutes later when Law and Thomson combined but the left backs shot went just wide. Huntly continued to press and got their reward when Greg Dorrat shot from 18 yards, the keeper spilled the ball to the feet of Law who made no mistake. Cornhill had little play in the Huntly half and when they did, keeper Danny Ross did well to get off his line quickly to clear the danger. The third came 10 minutes before half time when Callum McIntosh skinned a Cornhill defender on the edge of the box and rifeled home. Minutes before half time, a long ball from defence confused the a Cornhill defender and their keeper who collided, leaving Greg Dorrat with an empty net to slot the ball into.
Half time 4-0
Barron and Mckay replaced Law and Dorrat at half time and the pair combined well on a number of occasions, forcing 2 quick corners. This pressure paid off when a ball was placed into the box from the left and Jamie Cooper cooly slotted home from 12 yards. Any pressure from Cornhill was easily sustained by the Huntly centre backs, Sam Clark and Scott Milton. Huntly made it 6 when Law played the ball down the right to Barron who swung in a great cross which the Cornhill defender put into his own net, OG. Greg Dorrat rounded off the scoring, placing a low striker past the keeper and finding himself clean through.
