Todays match versus Riverside BC at McRobert Park, Aberchirder saw our lads continuing to build on last weeks good performance, again starting the match strongly and playing some good stuff early doors being rewarded on 9mins when Aiden Bowie latched on to a through ball from Ritchie Gibb and he scrambled it home to make it 1-0. Moments later some excellent trickery from James Higgins on the left saw his cross only half cleared and James Brooks was on hand to rattle home the rebound 2-0. We had chances to extend our lead before a ball was lobbed into our box on 33mins where the effort was only half cleared and allowed Riverside to pull one back just before the break. half time 2-1.
The second half couldn't have started better for us when a minute in a flick on by James Brooks saw Billy Blanchard's shot lobbing the keeper to score his first goal for Huntly. This was the springboard for our lads to gain confidence and go on to produce a brilliant second half performance with good possesion being rewarded on 55mins when Liam Ferguson picked out James Brooks whose stunning strike produced the goal of the match. 4-1
We did have the ball in the net once more when Liam Ferguson weaved his way towards goal and as he flicked it passed the on rushing defender to run on and score himself the ref who had had an excellent match rather harshly ruled it offside. Overall a very pleasing performance and real confidence booster ahead of our cup game at Colony Park (Inverurie) next Sunday. Good performances throughout the whole team today, with the defence now playing well as a unit and strong running in the wide areas. Man of the match Rothiemay's Aiden Bowie producing a flawless performance with gutsy defending and strong running to support the forward areas, his best performance at left back so far.

Today's team :- 1/Jordan Ogg 2/Ritchie Gibb 3/Aiden Bowie 4/Jack Duncan 5/Lee Inglis 6/James Higgins 7/Andrew Munro 8/Liam Ferguson 9/Aiden Bowie 10/James Brooks 11/Billy Blanchard 12/Matthew Anderson 14/Evan Cranna 15/Daniel Cameron
