| Hopefully the draw on Wednesday will be kind to us or at least a home draw which would be better for the team, club, the fans and of course the social club and town which would benefit from opposition fans money | |

would prefer a home tie, bit more money from a home gate that way. Queen's park away would be good to cover our first trip to Hampden Park. Still not keen on junior clubs getting into the competition given it is outside their association | |

| Subject: Scottish Cup Match fixing probe Tue Sep 29, 2009 7:58 pm | |
| I see we are involved in a match fixing probe by the police after ours Scottish Cup win on Saturday. Police have confirmed they are investigating a complaint of match-fixing. It follows the Scottish Cup tie between Hawick Royal Albert and Huntly on Saturday. Hawick, who play in the East of Scotland League, lost the first round match 7-0 to their Highland opponents. It is claimed several bets were placed at high odds, predicting the exact score, and also backing Hawick to concede a penalty. The match was one of 17 first round ties played in the competition at the weekend. Hawick Royal Albert currently sit at the bottom of the East of Scotland League first division. They have lost six of their seven league matches so far this season. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/south_of_scotland/8280038.stm | |
