| Think my comment at the forum about Skins picking up stupid cautions has now been justified with his one match ban for the Buckie game, if he learns to walk away, and let a referee do his job, he'll pick up alot less of these silly suspensions. | |

| fraser my friend...... i would like to inform you that i have yet to recieve a yellow (stupid caution) card for having a go at a referee . as you know sometimes you feel a refree has made a wrong decision during a game in which i presume you get annoyed and may even shout at him ???? but yet i do not take that up on the forum that you are having a go at a ref and that you are wrong to do it????....... | |

yeah we know that skins, but you have to admit your booking against rothes was a stupid one to get? i think fraser meant that you should have walked away from the rothes player and let the ref handle it

| Foof/Fraser: this season there have been plenty of other players that have received cards for various offences such as retaliating, dissent and taking a dive but you don't single them out for criticism! is it just Skinner you have an issue with? | |

| Its easy to say 'walk away', we all shout and get annoyed Surely you want players to question, isnt that why a certain player was sent off a week ago - the players from the opposing team went straight up to the ref to protest about the tackle | |

| Walk away is the only option. When have you ever seen a referree change his decision simply because a player has protested. | |

| Firstly, thanks Skins for coming on to the forum and saying your piece, not many players would.
Secondly, Grant, stop trying to make something out of nothing. I don’t have a “issue” with Skins as you put it, nor with any other Huntly player. Yes he took a while to grow on me, but now he’s been in contention for the man of the match these last few games. As you should know because you were sitting next to Dave on Sunday, when I said that.
What I said at the forum was that if a player keeps getting involved in disputes when he wasn’t involved in the actual incident that he will start to pick up needless cautions (future tense). I said more than once I was not speaking about the Rothes game. I want players to have a bit of passion about the game, but there is a difference between passion and e.g. running 30 yards to get involved needlessly. The referee at the Wick game actually told me he was extremely lucky not to get a caution for his actions. Skins is in his first full season in the Highland League, he doesn’t need to get a reputation of being a player who is constantly on the referee’s radar. As my uncle (former Highland League Referee) used to say “you know the players who could be pencilled into the book before that start of every game”. Now I’m not saying that Referees actually do this, but as we start to get the same Referees more and more, they will pick up on the perceived “trouble makers”.
I really don’t know if Dave understood exactly what I was getting at, but it was concern for a young player at the start of his Highland League career (at the age of 23 I’m starting to feel old!)
So Skins mate, don’t know exactly what you were told, but hope that my explanation makes thinks clearer.

no there is not an issue with skins at all, just sayin that the club should have known that skinner was walkin a fine line with pickin up a suspension and should have maybe warned him about pickin up a caution for something silly, or did the club not realise this? skins has been a consistent performer for the team this year an all be it he does frustrate fans at times with som rash challenges during matches, just my opinion which i am entitled to have

I spoke with the Manager earlier on today and was informed the ban is applied to the league so Skins will be eligible for the cup game on Saturday at Wick but will have to sit out the Formartine game next Wednesday (weather permitting)

| I think this is one area the fitba can learn from egg chasers (it was trialed then dumped I think) moving the free kick (or penalty in our case) fwd 10 metres. It has the desired effect ............. | |
