- I see we are involved in a match fixing probe by the police after ours Scottish Cup win on Saturday.
Police have confirmed they are investigating a complaint of match-fixing. It follows the Scottish Cup tie between Hawick Royal Albert and Huntly on Saturday. Hawick, who play in the East of Scotland League, lost the first round match 7-0 to their Highland opponents. It is claimed several bets were placed at high odds, predicting the exact score, and also backing Hawick to concede a penalty. The match was one of 17 first round ties played in the competition at the weekend. Hawick Royal Albert currently sit at the bottom of the East of Scotland League first division. They have lost six of their seven league matches so far this season.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/south_of_scotland/8280038.stm the BBC had been sniffing this morning as have one of the other papers - no comment given to them. If you look at the amount of chances we had (which included double figures off target by half-time) we should've battered them and a strike chalked offside early 2nd half | |

| Must point out that the three Hawick boys sitting next to me in the stand had money on 4 0, 5 0, 6 0, 7 0 and 9 0. That certainly does not look like a fix and anyway they were so bad no one could have predicted how much they would lose by. Looks like someone jealous becase they were the only ones to miss out on a bonanza. | |

| Sorry forgot 8 0 as well as they gleefully told me when we got to 7 that it did not matter as we could still score another 2 and they would still be in the money. | |

| The one guy i spoke to after the game said that his mate had 7-0 Huntly on at the bookies at 50/1 but only had a £1 on, doesn't sound like the great match fix it's being made out to be! | |
