Another good win thenite, quite a tight game and oor 1st half performance gave us the victory. Ellon werna happy aboot it(reckoned we are s****) but in my opinion we were jist the better team.
We made a good start and took the game to them and continued wi oor recent good fitba. Ross and Neal were solid again on the right, defendin & attackin and maest o oor early chances came fae that side. Liam was a handfull as ever and got oor 1st goal through strength and persistance when he didna gie up on a through ba and managed tae nip in against the defender and poke it past the keeper, 1-0. We were flowin noo and dealin well enuff wi Ellons threat and got oor 2nd through Liam again, this time a ba ower the top took Liam wide on the left o the box, the keeper committed himsell and Liam showed good composure to get it under control and fire it past the defender on the post, 2-0. Efter this we kine o let Ellon back in the game as we switched off in midfield a bit and allowed them to much time on the ba and let to many things bounce on the hard surface. There were a couple o near things bit nae to scary, 2-0 half time.
2nd half was alot mare even, baeth teams makin chances and we got oor 3rd when Liams freekick met Gary in the box and he neatly flicked it intae the net, 3-0. Ellon pushed on alot mare noo and had some decent chances, pulled 1 back fae a corner, 3-1, but James pulled off 3 toppers o saves to deny them. We also had some chances but nithin to dramatic. 3-1 full time.
Ellon were a bity upset full time, I was told they're goin tae f***** hump us doon there by their coach. Some o they're players had some choice words for us ana but for me we jist edged the game. Should be a tasty encounter doon there. There was also "Jaffacake gate" to deal wi in the dressin room when an unamed assaillant in oor ranks threw a jaffacake intae there dressin room and their coach was nae chuffed tae say the least.(oor loons were gien as good as they got but shouldna hav thrown the tasty chocolate and orange biscuit). Back tae oor performance though, we played good fitba again, passin, movin and usin the width o the pitch. We did switch off badly tale end o the 1st half. Liam got man o the match for havin his 1st shot this season wi his left fit, and maybe for scorin 2 and makin the ither. Well done abody for a good fightin performance.
