Glad to get this game oot of the way and the pitch wisna the best with a the frost, soft on top but you could feel the hard underneath. It proved slippy as the game wore on and didna help either team, Rory managed the splits at 1 point. Nae a good game to watch in my opinion, very scrappy and nae real shape to it. We took the lead early enough, Liam using good strength to make his way through and finished off well. 0-1. He then got his second when he slid in to finish off a goal line scramble, 0-2. Turriff pulled 1 back when Rory was off gettin treatment and naebody switched on enough to listen to instructions (or think aboot the gap at the back) and Steven was left 1 on 1 and they raced through to score. 1-2 half time.
Liam got his hattrick early in the 2nd half and that still didna seem to settle us much and Turriff made it tough and came back into the game, James made a number o good saves and desicions on when to come oot and clear to keep things the same. Later on Ross capped off another good display by him wi oor 4th but Turriff were haein neen o it and duly scored again to mak the last wee bit less comfortable. 2-4 Final score.
We didna play that well ata theday some of it to do wi condition of the pitch under foot, Turriff playin well and bein tough to break down but I was a little dissapointed wi how lacklustre we looked at times today. Nae enough urgency at times, nae enough anticipation of the ball, very quiet on the pitch and very poor finishing at times. The christmas break didna help either I dinna think, but if we play like that next week were oot. Man of the match today was James in goals closely followed by Ross and Liam. That was Liams 3rd game in a row wi a hattrick(well done Liam), I wonder if he got a tick on his chart for that theday?
