Huntly 3-2 Stonehaven YFC

Another great display fae the loons, a lot mare like the Cove performance than the one against Broomhill. In fairness the game could have went either cos there was nae much between us. First half we took a while to get going both teams struggled to get shots in wi the midfield being keenly contested. Gary was winnin a lot o good headers for us. Stonehaven though got the upperhand and got into a 2 goal lead. Some of our loons were barely in the game for periods of the 1st half but we managed to pull a goal back before half time when Ross Mackie sneaked in to toe poke the ball past the keeper. 1-2 half time.

At half time we spoke to the loons who struggled slightly in the 1st half, asked them to lift their game and credit to them they did. 2nd half we were probably mare on top and created plenty openings. Maest of our through ba's were a bit to far in front for the forwards. At the side we were starting to wonder if it wisna going to be our day, Ian had a good chance, didna quite tak it, then another one fell to him. He burst through on goal wi only the keeper to beat, lined up his shot fae 6 yds oot and hit the crossbar!! It was easier to score so Gary McWilliam stuck in the rebound to show him how its done. 2-2. This was wi aboot 7 mins left and we kept chippin away untill wi a minute to go Greg Morrison bundled in a corner for 3-2!!. Stonehaven had a go in stoppage time but we just hung on for the win and got through to the 3rd round of the scottish cup!! 3-2 full time.

Craig Green was man of the match today wi a great game at sweeper, he tidied up all the loose ba's and kept abody organised. Gary McWilliam wisna far behind him. Everybody had a good game, naebody let anybody down there was commitment and belief in abody. When the subs came on they all made a difference to how the game was going. I think they should all now realise that we are a good team, wi good players.

Gary's scored 3 and he's mr versatile, can play anywhere and always has a good game.

definatly takes after me then just as long as he doesnt end up with mine and his fathers temper on a pitch he ll do well

any idea where the boys are playing at this weekend as i cant see a fixture for them on the league website?
