Stonehaven YFC United 3-7 Huntly

Oor 1st win of the new year and we played well today apart fae a few slack moments when we were clear and supposed to be in control. We lost the 1st goal minutes into the game when a good long range shot went high past James fa didna hae much chance. 1-0. Efter that we were well on top with Stonehaven hardly threatening us. Neal with his new boots got oor 1st efter a good move, 1-1. Liam got no.2 with a close range effort, 1-2. No.3 was almost identical to no.2 but Darren finished it off, 1-3. The 4th was probably oor best goal wi a few players involved and Liam scored it wi a good header, 1-4. Ross "Vinnie Jones and Roy Keane rolled into one" Mackie, got the 5th to mak it 1-5 half time. Just like to say ana that some of oor quick breaks oot were good to watch wi the loons makin some lovely runs and creatin options for the player in possession.
2nd half we were against the wind a bit but still controlled maest o the game. Darren popped up to get his 2nd o the game for 1-6. Stonehaven's tight wearin assassin then scored a long range freekick that if you got him to tak anither 100 times he probably wouldna hit it so good again, 2-6. We got a bity sloppy for a while after that and gave awa a poor goal, far to slack and nae enough urgency to win the ba back, 3-6. Luke rounded of the scorin for us nae long efter for a final score of 3-7. On to the 1/4 finals now.
Good performance fae abody theday but we need to keep playin well through a hale game, nae just 20 minute spell here and there. Also I'd really like to watch a game far we dinna lose the 1st goal, then pull oor fingers oot. Man o the match today, among the players some o them thought it was Craig or Vinnie.... sorry Ross, who deserved it but I thought Daniel was oor best player theday at right back. He defended well and got forward at every opportunity to support oor attacks.
