Huntly were denied all three points last night at Inverdee in an exciting match against Banks o Dee. Despite going one down early in the game the lads fought back bravely to take the lead seven minutes from time but had to settle for a share of the points when they conceded a last minute equaliser.
'Dee almost scored direct from the kick off when Huntly went to sleep and keeper Thatcher had to make a fine save to prevent the home team from taking the lead.
The opener came when Connor Craig evaded a Clark tackle and ran on to smash the ball past Thatcher.
Huntly responded well and Scott Law nearly equalised with a lob from twelve yards which the keeper held.
'Dee came back strongly had had several chances to increase their lead.
However, it was Huntly who scored next, Craig DORRAT beating the off side trap a scoring with a cool finish over the advancing keeper.
After half time both teams went all out for the winner and Sam Clark's long throws were troubling the home defence, the home keeper having one stunning save to deny Dorrat's header.
Huntly thought they had won it in the 73rd minute when Andrew CHALMERS found space in the box and swept a shot into the net, but it wasnt to be as a defensive lapse in the final seconds allowed 'Dee to grab a point when a Clark back header evaded Thatcher in the Huntly goal and the home striker had an easy tap-in.
Next up is Portlethen away tomorrow and the lads will be looking to take the points and continue their fine recent run.
