Huntly rounded off a great week recording their third win on the bounce to climb up to third place in the league. A well taken hat-trick from Greg Dorrat was the highlight of a fantastic all round performance by the youngsters.
Huntly survived an early scare when Craig broke free for Banks but keeper "Fudge" Thatcher pulled off a fine save from the one on one situation.
Huntly responded immediately and Jamie Cooper went close with a fine run and shot.
The home team gradually took the upper hand and first McIntosh and then Law went close.
The breakthrough finally came in the 24th minute when Greg DORRAT broke free and shot past the advancing keeper.
From the re-start Huntly doubled their advantage when Scott Law gained possession on the left and his cross was expertly nodded into the net by DORRAT again.
Huntly continued to dominate and Dorrat had a goal chalked off for off-side and then Jamie Cooper hit the junction of post and bar with a great effort.
Banks o' Dee tried hard to get back into the game but the home defence was mopping up evrything that was thrown at them with some great tackling and clearances.
In the second half Banks continued to attack and the home goal had a couple of let-offs but again the defence stood strong under pressure.
Play became scrappy as Huntly held on to their two goal lead and in the 61st minute DORRAT sealed the points and his hat-trick when he nodded in a long throw-in from Clark.
Nine points in 5 days is a great achievement but it may be too little too late as Huntly only have seven league games left, although they move up to third place.
However they must target 7 wins from 7 games and hope that their nearest challegers slip up. Its a big ask but "its a funny old game".
