| So proud of the Bot today. We had a lot to prove and I think we did ourselves and the junior grade proud. When we drew Huntly I was very nervous because it was a trip into the unknown. I had no idea what the standard of the Highland League was, and was a wee bit feart that it might turn out to be the case that the HL was a higher grade of football than what we are used to. My fears have been allayed. If Talbot played in the Highland League we would comfortably be in the top 4 or 5 sides, and in with a good shout of the title. Hopefully results like today will make the SFA sit up and take notice and stop patronising the junior grade. If you win the Scottish Cup you get in, if you win the East or West league you get in, and that's it. Yet no matter how hopeless a HL team is, Rothes, Fort William, Strathspey etc they automatically get access to the big tourney. Time for a re-think in my opinion. Only the top half of the HL should get in the Scottish 1st round and the same applies to the East Seniors and South of Scotland league. The spaces freed up to be filled by the top 3 or top 4 of the two junior super leagues. Anyway, the best of luck for the rest of the season. Would be nice to see a team in black & gold being crowned HL champs. | |

| Well first Huntly match of the season for me and even managed to bring along my dad and a mate to take it in too. Shame the boys didn't show up til second half. Its was one way traffic, no communication, little movement, no vision in attack and far too many simple passes not reaching their target. It could easily have been more than 3-0 at the break. Eventually we managed to break down a few more attacks and finally got some possession second half but they always looked dangerous. Glad we got a few on the scoresheet, but the scoreline flattered us. we just weren't at the races today and the best team won. Hopefully we can continue to improve in the league and look forward to a better cup run next year. | |

So does this mean that HFL teams should get to play in the Junior Cup! This isn't sour grapes just pointing out that is the only Scottish Cup we get to play in, why let junior teams have access to two cups.

| Sadly that's the end of our Scottish Cup adventure for another year but I think we all had a great day out, just a pity about the result. The Supporters Club would like to say a special thank you to all the staff at Possie Nansie's Inn in Mauchline who made us so welcome and laid on some lovely soup and sandwiches at very short notice. Looking forward to next year's campaign, and good luck to Auchinleck against Stirling Albion. | |

| Would like to day that I enjoyed both games against yous, Talbot were brilliant in the first half today but dodgy in the second. I hope yous all found the Auchinleck and Mauchline hospitality to be to your liking. I will look out for your results and we may meet again. What is the opinion on the standard of the Talbot team and whats our chances against Stirling | |

We had a great day out despite the result. I have no doubt Talbot would be a serious challenger for the Highland League. However you did not see Huntly at their best, but all credit to Talbot for that. I will be having a quiet flutter on Talbot to get something at Stirling. I think the Binos may well underestimate you.Good luck anyway

| Right lets get some facts sorted out. Do not be fooled by the 4 - 3 scoreline it should have 5 or 6 - 0 in a devasting first 30 min. We were beat before a ball was kicked with an inbelievable tactical switch. Fact : Ross Mckenzie has been one of our most consistent performers at RIGHT back this season. Fact : Manager said we lost or shape last season without our injured left sided trio. Fact : Manager thinks Craigs best position is left back. Fact : Mckenzie, Reid, Skinner Dorrat play at Formartine with Si absent. Fact : Two of our three left sided players on bench Fact : Manager ignores all above Facts and moves Ross to LEFT back. Never mind hindsight when the team lined up we all looked at one another and said what the f*** is going on and sadly we did not have long to wait to find out the outcome. We had a great day out despite the first 30 min, good trip down, excellent pub in Mauchline which made us really welcome, with the unusal name of Poosie Nansies and not Nansies Poosie as Ray thought. Despite scorline, boisterous on way home until driver decided he could not hear himself speaking and asked the noise to be turned down. As Treasurer of Supporters Club I would also like to pay tribute to the those who travelled and managed us to breakeven with the bus. Roll on next Scottish Cup adventure. | |

| SAM makes some very good points about tactics But none of the team performed in the first half. And it was a good 40 minutes before we put together three passes It does seem that when we get in pressure situations the answer is to pump a long ball and watch it come straight back again. Keep the ball and play lots of short passes even if they are backward passes. That's what we did in the second half and it was much better. Anyway on to Wick and lets see the team get this result out of the system up there. With another bus full of EEKA PEEKA songsters it could be another great day out. Anyone thinking about it should make the effort !! With the top 3 involved in the Scottish cup we have a real chance now to make some headway at the top. | |

| Yes, I think it would be good to have HL sides competing in the junior cup. It would mean that the north of Scotland would be in with a realistic chance of winning the trophy and would have a fair few teams every year competing in the final stages. At the moment that's not the case because there is a massive gulf between the quality of the Highland League and that of the North juniors, and every season the Culters, Sunnybanks and Banks O Dee's are out of the tournament before new year. | |

Yes we really turned it into the HFC Supporters Club venue yesterday. I'm sure they appreciated our trade as much as we did their hospitality. Mind you we might have seemed a very tame bunch compared to Burns and his cronies according to this extract from "The Jolly Breggars" In Possie Nansie's heid the splore, To drink their orra duddies; Wi' quaffing an' laughing, They ranted an' they sang, Wi' jumping an' thumping, The vera girdle rang.

| Jamieson, by the time richie was off the game was over. As sam said why make 3 postional changes when 1 would have done. If that didn't work then go to a plan b. The best team won by a mile and if we are honest we know we should not have been playing this game but they looked as if the can't cope with 90 mins. After the shocker we had at home we did hope for better but that must be the worst 45 of the season by a long way. We had a great day out. Thanks to talbot for some of their hospitality, after being told we were not welcome in the social club and that was the reason we found the best pub in mauchline, we were then told it was ok to go in and big thanks to John for that but once you were out could you get back in? Not a chance. p.s we loved the open air toilets it was to bring back so many happy memories of rothes | |
