The start of summertime, losing an hour, and a long trek through to Fraserburgh meant an early start today. So, the lads could have been excused being half asleep, but they were all bright and up for the game from the whistle.
Pressing from the outset, Huntly were creating a good few chances, but couldn't find the net until the seasons current top scorer, Reilly, replaced Manson, and within seconds Huntly took the lead.
Continuing in the same vein, lots of spurned chances, and the defence standing firm to cut out nearly all opportunities from Fraserburgh, the half played on until Donaldson made it 2-0 shortly before the break.
HT 2-0
Second half the game seemed to open up further in Huntlys favour, with Fraserburgh having less and less possession, but with the ball being played stubbornly through traffic on the left or the middle, little advantage was made of the acres of space available on the right, where Bremner, Whyte and Reilly spent most of the half shouting fruitlessly for the ball. Very frustrating because on the occasions that the ball did break right, the half's best opportunities were made, and goals scored, from Donaldson and Whyte.
