PETERHEAD 3 HUNTLY 1

We played the Blue Toon last night (27th Sept) in near perfect conditions, the pitch was first class.

TEAM. G.Robertson, G. Rennie, C.Simpson, P.Douglas, M. Dunn, C.McIntosh, P.Young, N. Munro, A.Cadger, R.Taylor(c), F.More.
Subs. M.Crisp, A.Whyte, C.Graham and E.Watson(gk)

Peterhead got the game underway and we hardly touched the ba in the first 5 mins, they started like an express train and the pass and move was giving us problems, but we stood firm. We worked our way back into it and had the bulk of the play for the next 25 mins or so.
Franny More broke through and the keeper did really well to block his netbound shot with his legs. Soon after we took the lead when Cadger found McIntosh wide on the right who delivered a cross that Richy headed home from close range.
Every time Richy got the ba we caused them problems and with Franny closing athing doon they found it hard to get oot o thier haff.
With 10 mins to the break Peterhead forced thier way into the game and with our lads tiring they found space. Gav Robertson pulled off 3/4 tremendous saves and we defended 7/8 corners really well in the final few mins.

H-T 0-1

Some of the younger lads were knackered and although Peterhead gave us a bit of a grilling in the second half we continued to play some very tidy fitba and near the end we created some good openings. The Blue Tooners scored a couple of decent goals and another near the end to wrap the game up.

F-T 3-1

Again we were impressed with the shape, attitude of our lads and it was a cracking game played in good spirit. The first team lads were tremendous with the youngsters and I`m sure the youngsters learned plenty. Richy Taylor was in great form and the Peterhead lads couldna handle him. Paul Young playing against his mates was still going strong in the 90th min. Gav, Mike Dunn and Franny gave 100%. Of the younger lads Simmo, Toshy and Nial Munro were the best of them but we couldna match the Peterhied lads`s fitness levels. It was the diference between the sides.
The officials were first class.

Never hear that very often! glad too hear it! Sounds like some good performances from our boys, hoping to get to see some of the 21s games soon as i've always enjoyed them, just need to get off nightshift first!
