Today's Huntly under 14's result away to Middlefield Wasps was : Middlefield Wasps 2, Huntly Under 14's 6.

Scorers : Mikey Simpson (3), Ewan Gordon, Greg Morrison and Kieran Dey.

Todays team : 1- Callum Whyte, 2- Craig Gordon, 3- Scott Lawson, 4- Michael Veitch, 5- Ewan Gordon, 6- Cameron Christie, 7- Owen Mitchell, 8- Gary Morrison (capt.), 9- Mikey Simpson, 10- Greg Morrison, 11- Kieran Dey.

We played Middlefield Wasps away at Aulton, in Aberdeen today, to finish our season, and rounded it off in style by winning 6 - 2 despite only having 11 players available, which meant a hard shift for the lads on a fiery and bumpy surface.

A well taken hat-trick from Mikey Simpson, and further goals from Ewan Gordon, little Greg Morrison (one up on his big brother Gary today, for once!) and a Kieran Dey cracker. The passing and work-rate throughout was of a high standard and every one of the 11 did their job and gave 100%, and the Coaches could have asked for no more.

The lads have had a fantastic season, finishing runners-up in their league, by virtue of a point. Things look bright for next season, with the right additions to bolster tight squad numbers, and we now have two trials/training nights the next 2 fridays at the Meadows, although the majority of the squad will be staying with us.

Onwards to next season now.

and the good news is that, if the rumours are true that one team not relegated from the A division are not continuing into next year, you may have a play off at the start of the new season against the runner up from section 2 to gain promotion next season!

Well done the 14s for a superb season, i have really enjoyed all the games both league & cup.With such a tight squad with younger players involved it was some effort to be r/up by only 1 point but we scored the most 153,let in only 28 from 24 games ,all players gave 100% not only in games but on training nights as well.Thanks to John Veitch,our match sect,asst coaches Alan Gordon & Fraser Newlands as well as Shona Newlands for all help/support.To Huntly FC,Gordon,Sandy,Debbie & to all parents for great support in which was a long devil of a season with all call offs[Carol Baxter certainly earned her corn] & lastly to all players thanks for a memorable season.ONWARDS Mitchy

I'd just like to agree with everything Mitch has just said regarding thanks to all those concerned! It really has been a memorable season, and I think our "young" team has progressed and developed a lot over this season, as the results no doubt proved.

Thanks should also go to : Asda (Huntly), R & M Engineering, Deveron Homes, Grampian Construction and The Royal Bank Of Scotland for their sponsorship in various forms, be it Tracksuits, Strips, Training Gear, Bags, etc.

Also thanks to the parents, for their continued support, they are probably the best bunch in our league!
